Todays plan was to visit the Duomo and Tower. We arived at the Tower at 10 and headed straight up.

Starting to get into the flow of keeping the kids interested in yet another “old and beautiful piece of rock” by making sure they understand why people have built it in the first place. Plus making sure they are constantly fed! Robert went back to the Hard Rock Cafe to buy his hat and set about trying to wear it in as many different ways

Before the Duomo we had a look at the museum which is brand new and contains a reconstruction of the original gothic facade. The museum layout is confusing and we got in the lift in the second floor to the the third floor only to then step out and see the lift had taken us up a grand total of 6 steps. Robert laughed for a good 10 minutes about this. Next up was the Duomo. A long walk up right to the top of the dome.
We arrived back at the campsite by 5 and headed straight to the pool.

Quick dinner of pasta and then we made phone calls to friends and family. Hannah was getting tired by 9.30 so headed back to the van with Tonya. Robert stayed with me at the pool while I watched the Olympics (well done Murray!) and he finished the Harry Potter play script.
Tomorrow we move on to Rome with a lunchtime stop at Pisa on the way.
