Our first day in Rome started at the Colosseum. Not as big as I thought it would be but very impressive. Queues to get in were long but we had prebooked tickets and not too crowded inside

We moved on to the Hill and Forum which took us ages to get our head around the layout. 

As the heat was starting to rise we headed to the Vatican via the Pantheon. Absolutely loved this building even if they weren’t entirely sure why they had built it

Finally we arrived at the Vatican 

We just had a quick look around as planning to come back tomorrow. We walked across to the Hard Rock cafe for our wedding anniversary meal plus Tonya let me get another beer glass. Hannah was very impressed with her free necklace from the cafe.

On the way back to the metro we stopped to look at the Trevi Fountain. Absolutely gorgeous at night

Tomorrow we plan another day in Rome at the Vatican
